Please Come Home, I Got Beans and Bologna, also known as the "Beans and Bologna" Song or Beans and Baloney, refers to a viral video of an old man in a deli / convenience store singing for someone to "please come home" because he has "beans and bologna," evident in the products on the counter that he's buying. The original video went viral on TikTok in 2023, trending as a viral sound along with a slowed + reverb remix. The video later spread to Instagram Reels.

Origin

On September 2nd, 2023, TikToker^[1] @abdo_1016 posted a video of an old man named Verlet (a frequent character on his page) singing, "Please come home, I got beans and bologna." Over the course of one month, the video gained roughly 118,500 plays and 9,800 likes (shown below).

Spread

Later in the month, on September 17th, 2023, the video was reposted by Instagram^[2] user @yungskippy2x, gaining roughly 5.3 million views and 297,300 likes in one month. The viral repost resulted in the video's viral spread. For instance, on September 29th, 2023, Instagram^[3] user @superetro posted a remix of the man's singing, adding text reading, "Who put unc in the studio?" The Reel received roughly 52,800 views and 2,400 likes in 12 days (shown below).

Going into October 2023, the meme spread back to TikTok. For instance, on October 7th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @stek.edts posted a slowed remix and edit of the video, earning roughly 4.1 million plays and 705,400 likes in four days (shown below, left). On October 8th, TikToker^[5] @conic_chamber1 posted a similar edit, gaining roughly 164,700 plays and 18,900 likes in three days (shown below, right).

The song and its remixes were then used in viral photo slideshows on TikTok^[6] as well as in football edits on TikTok.^[7]
