Origin

On March 14th, 2025, X^[1] user @ljayden55 posted a photograph of himself holding a packaged apple pie between the palms of his hands, holding it towards the camera while peeking from behind it. The photograph, captioned, "Pie perspective," gained over 2.8 million views, 7,200 reposts and 88,000 likes in four days (shown below).

Spread

Starting on March 15th, 2025, users on X posted redraws and other memes based on the photograph. On that day, X^[2] user @SPRWIFE captioned the photograph, "toriel dreemur," referencing the 2015 video game Undertale. The post (shown below) received over 930 reposts and 9,200 likes in three days.

Later on March 15th, X^[3] user @mmjnene posted a redraw that replaced the man holding the pie with a fan art of Project SEKAI character Mochizuki Honami. The post (shown below) garnered over 2,100 reposts and 11,000 likes in three days.

In mid-March 2025, more redraws of the photograph circulated on X / Twitter.
