On March 27th, 2025, musician and rapper Armani West released her song "Piano Tiles" to SoundCloud,^[1] gathering over 130,000 streams and 4,000 likes in three months.

The song came to be used for an animation trend on TikTok in June 2025, with TikToker^[2] @pixietruffle posting an animation video featuring characters from the video game Deltarune on June 12th, and gathered over 300,000 plays and 44,000 likes in a month.

Other TikTokers began participating in the "Piano Tiles" trend in subsequent weeks, with TikToker^[3] @katsukisartist posting a video featuring the character Bakugo from the anime My Hero Academia. The post gathered over 200,000 plays and 40,000 likes in two weeks.

On July 7th, TikToker^[4] @s1lverxxo posted a compilation of various Piano Tiles animation videos, gathering over 1 million plays and 270,000 likes in three days.

On July 8th, TikToker^[5] @chrowmiee posted a Roblox inspired animation video that gathered over 12 million plays and 1.9 million likes in three days.

On July 10th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @khrio posted an animation video inspired by Armani West, the musician who created the Piano Tiles song. The post gathered over 14 million plays and 2.7 million likes in a day.
