Photobombing Jogger refers to an image of a running man looking embarrassed when he realizes he is running in front of a photographer who is taking a picture of a couple as the couple gets engaged. The image was very popular on Reddit's /r/pics, and inspired photoshopped edits in which the jogger was placed in other famous pictures.

Origin

On July 1st, 2019, Redditor 123CJP^[1] posted to /r/pics a picture of a jogger realizing he was accidentally running through a couple's engagement photo, gaining over 149,000 points in less than 24 hours (shown below).

Spread

Users in /r/pics were quick to photoshop the jogger into other photographs. For example, user Tighe^[2] posted a photoshop of the jogger in a famous picture of a World War II Navy officer kissing a woman, gaining over 6,000 points (shown below, left). User That_BLANK^[3] posted a picture of the jogger ruining a photo of Donald Trump shaking hands with Kim Jong-Un (shown below, right).

Shortly after the picture was posted, a Photoshop Battle thread about the photo was posted to /r/photoshopbattles, gaining over 47,000 points.^[4] There, some popular photoshops include an edit by queen-adreena^[6] that gained over 1,200 points (shown below, left). User shawndoesthings^[5] posted a Distracted Boyfriend edit of the picture, gaining over 6,200 points (shown below, right).
