Petscop 2 refers to the anticipated sequel to YouTuber Pyrocynical's lengthy 2017 analysis of the Petscop webseries. The original video was very popular among Pyrocynical's fanbase, and in late 2018, the fans began clamoring for a sequel with memes on his subreddit.

Origin

On September 5th, 2017, Pyrocynical released a lengthy analysis of Petscop, a mysterious webseries wherein a man named Paul appears to play a forgotten game called Petscop with obtuse and unsettling references both to Paul and real-world events. The video went on to be one of Pyrocynical's most popular, gaining over 4.3 million views (shown below).

The idea picked up momentum over the following several months. On July 20th, 2017, Sergej Přizdisráč started a Change.org petition^[1] to get Pyrocynical to make more videos on the series, gaining 811 signatures (shown below).

Pyrocynical said he was working on a sequel on September 5th, 2018, but there were "No promises it would be out soon."^[6] Threads relating to the topic appeared in Pyrocynical's Steam community on September 8th, 2018^[2] and October 29th.^[3] On November 25th, 2018, a definition for "Petscop 2" was added to Urban Dictionary ^[4] (shown below).

The movement became a meme on Pyrocynical's subreddit, /r/pyrocynical, where images and fan art about the unreleased video have been commonly posted since late 2018. For example, Redditor Advos_467^[5] posted art of Pyro watching TikTok instead of making Petscop 2 on January 7th, 2019, gaining over 4,000 points (shown below, left).On July 22nd, Redditor Snow344 posted a Bad Acronym, gaining 100 points (shown below, right).
