Peter Griffin Dancing (Audio) is a viral sound effect and pop culture reference that comes from the show Family Guy. The audio, which is Peter Griffin humming along to the tune of Axel F while dancing with Cleveland during a cutaway gag. On TikTok, the audio of Peter humming has been used in videos featuring animals expressing joy or otherwise being full of energy and happy.

Origin

The audio comes from the Family Guy episode "Meet the Quagmires," which was episode 18 of season 5, and features Peter going back in time to stop Lois from falling in love with Quagmire. Within the context of the scene, Peter had spent all night dancing with Cleveland in stereotypical 80s attire when he should have been advancing the plot along, angering Brian who comes up to stop Peter. The episode first came out on May 20th, 2007, with a re-upload of the scene being posted on YouTube by the channel Efrem Peters[1] on September 1st, 2013, where it would go on to get over 2.7 million views in nine years (shown below).

On October 30th, 2022, the TikTok account goldenbiscuit.tx[2] uploaded a TikTok in which the sound plays in the background while the golden retriever Biscuit lays on the floor with a grin. On-screen text is used to give the context that this sound is what the owner feels is playing on loop in the dog's head while he's smiling and happy, which also garnered over 170,000 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

The audio immediately started to spread and get big within AnimalTok, with the most-liked TikTok using the sound being released two weeks after the original, showcasing a Duck waddling its feet while watching the Spies In Disguise movie, uploaded by the TikToker LitePimp[3] on November 14th, 2022 and earning over 2.1 million likes in two months (shown below).

The audio found itself being used a lot during the 2022 Thanksgiving season, with the TikToker cowphobia86[4] leading the charge in using the audio to describe their enjoyment at all the Thanksgiving food they're able to eat, posting a TikTok on November 24th, 2022 that would go on to get over 1.6 million likes in two months (shown below).
