On September 19th, 2024, TikTok^[1] user @gamingfilterpro shared his mini-game filter titled "Perfect Pitch Challenge," which allows users to control a virtual ball with their voice to guide it through some obstacles based on the musical scale (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do). The video showing how the filter works (seen below) amassed over 15 million views, 773,000 likes and more than 4 million other videos uploaded by users doing the perfect pitch challenge.

The Perfect Pitch Challenge grew more popular on TikTok over the course of a month, inspiring many singers and celebrities to join the trend. For instance, on September 20th, 2024, singer Charlie Puth^[2] posted a video using the filter (seen below), which amassed over 186 million plays and 12 million likes in two weeks.

On September 27th, 2024, TikTok^[3] user @taylorrblairr posted a video of their dog doing the Pitch Perfect Challenge (seen below), amassing roughly 123,000 likes in a week.
