She first gained a following in 2014 and 2015 for her Snapchat content, documenting her travels and partying lifestyle, often featuring big-time celebrities in her videos that earned her the nickname "Queen of Snapchat" online. She has cited herself as a "director of vibes." Around 2018, after becoming artist 070 Shake's manager, YesJulz began a professional relationship with rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West, which carried into early 2024, seeing her promote his Vultures albums and merch. In March 2024, YesJulz was fired by Ye and purportedly hit with $7.7 million in fines for breaking an NDA, resulting in discourse about her spreading on social media.

Online History

Julieanna Goddard first rose to prominence online between 2014 and 2015 for her Snapchat content in which she documented her everyday life, including her travels and partying lifestyle. Some of the parties were purportedly hosted by Goddard. Her Snapchat content regularly featured celebrities, including LeBron James, whom she is supposedly friends with.[1] In 2014, she also began uploading vlogs to YouTube[2] similarly documenting her lifestyle (examples shown below).

On November 24th, 2015, the Miami New Times[3] published a profile piece on Goddard, claiming she started throwing parties as a teen. After dropping out of the University of South Florida, she started working as a hostess at the Miami club Arkadia, working her way up to promote for clubs like LIV, FDR and Story, where she made connections with celebrities and grew her following. This reportedly allowed her to become a party promoter for "big brands." In the profile, she claims her Snapchat story, at the time, was viewed between "80,000 and 100,000 times in 24 hours."

N-Word Shirt Controversy

On or around May 4th, 2017, Goddard posted and deleted an image of a T-shirt that reads "Niggas lie a lot" to X, writing, "So…. am I allowed to wear this to the festival tomorrow or nah?" The post was screenshotted and went viral online, resulting in her losing a speaking opportunity at a summit held by the Toronto-based organization Women Inspiring Passion and Purpose.[4] Rapper Daniel Caesar purportedly came to Goddard's defense over the situation but later retracted his stance.[5]

Goddard apologized for the post via a Snapchat video shortly after it went viral. In the video, she cried while apologizing, saying she should "never be associated" with that word (shown below, reupload).

The article also explains how Goddard is close with Travis Scott and Kanye West, writing:

Shake’s music found its way into the G.O.O.D. music camp through YesJulz, who is a close friend of Travis Scott and is connected with Kanye’s crew. According to Julz, she played some of 070 Shake’s music during a Yeezy fitting, and sparked Pusha-T’s interest.

On October 22nd, 2018, Vice[7] published an article titled "YesJulz Is the Latest Example of the Problem With Voluntourism," in which the writer criticizes a trip Goddard took with West and Kim Kardashian to Uganda, positing that the trip was largely "self-serving."
