Vivian Jenna Wilson, who goes by @Vivllainous online, is an internet personality and Elon Musk's estranged daughter from his first marriage to her mother Justine Wilson. Elon Musk made several inflammatory statements in a July 2024 interview with Jordan Peterson, claiming that the Woke Mind Virus "killed" one of his "older boys [Xavier]" when he was "tricked" into signing documents approving Vivian Wilson's gender reassignment surgery. Soon after Musk's interview, Wilson took to Threads to criticize Musk, pointing out various factual inaccuracies in his account of her childhood and asserting that his claims about her life are entirely "made up." Wilson went on to rebut more of Musk's posts in August 2024 and created a TikTok account that month as well.

History

Elon Musk married Canadian author Justine Wilson in 2000, who gave birth to a pair of twins in 2004 and triplets in 2006. Wilson and Musk divorced in 2008, however, they continued to share custody of their five children.^[9]

In 2022, one of the twins changed her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson after coming out as a trans woman, citing her new gender identity and her desire to stop being associated with Musk as the reason for her name change.^[8]

Elon Musk's Interview With Jordan Peterson

On July 22nd, 2024, Canadian clinical psychologist and professor Jordan Peterson hosted an interview with Elon Musk in which the two spent some time talking about Musk's child with his first wife Justine Wilson.

Musk said that he was "essentially tricked into signing documents for one of [his] older boys," and that, "They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead. My son Xavier is dead — killed by the woke mind virus." He said that he "vowed to destroy the woke mind virus after that…" and that buying Twitter / X was part of this oath.

On July 22nd. X^[1] user @CollinRugg posted the relevant clip from the interview, gathering over 200,000 likes in three weeks (seen below).

Also on July 22nd, 2024, Musk^[2] reiterated some of his statements in a tweet posted in response to "Gays Against Groomers," saying that, "Xavier was born gay and slightly autistic," but that "he was not a girl."

Online Presence

On July 25th, 2024, Elon Musk's estranged daughter Vivian Wilson shared a video introducing herself as "Vivian Jenna Wilson" on Threads, saying that she's doing well and fine and that she is formulating a response to the contentious statements made during the interview days prior, which sparked discussions and press coverage (seen below).

Later that day, Wilson made a series of posts to Threads^[3] that countered Musk's account of her childhood and her transition into being a woman. Wilson asserted that Musk's anecdotes about her childhood were entirely false and that had no idea about what her childhood was like because he "wasn't there" (shown below).

Also on July 25th, 2024, pop artist Grimes (former partner of Musk who has three children with him) made a post in support of Vivian Wilson on X^[10] / Twitter, writing, "I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian." The post gathered over 160,000 likes in three weeks (seen below).

On August 4th, Musk posted a tweet^[4] responding to a video of him with some of his sons, writing, "All 5 boys super happy" (seen below).

On August 5th, 2024, Vivian made a post on Threads^[5] criticizing Musk, saying, "It seems to me like you’re trying to rebuild your brand image as the 'caring paternal father' which I will not let go unchallenged" (shown below).

Also on August 5th, Vivian Wilson posted the first video to her TikTok^[6] account @vivllainous, gathering over 35,000 plays and 4,000 likes in four days (seen below, left). On August 8th, @vivllainous posted another video^[7] about Musk, gathering over 230,000 plays and 20,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
