TootyMcNooty is an animator found on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, known best for their animations interpreting the audio of viral videos, as well as original animations featuring colorful, cute characters, many referencing and borrowing from meme culture. TootyMcNooty began posting her animations to TikTok in 2018, gaining a significant following over the next three years and becoming significantly popular for her animations featuring phrogs.

History

Before posting animations, TootyMcNooty posted original pieces of art on her Instagram[1] account @tootymcnooty. She posted her first pseudo-animation to TikTok on December 9th, 2018, consisting of a filmed computer screen showing characters in various positions to appear as if animated (shown below). The video is a contribution to the I Kissed Her lip dub trend, popular at that time, and gained over 3 million views in three years.

Tooty continued this style of pseudo-animation over the course of the year, finding significant success with a number of her videos (examples shown below).

On January 10th, 2019, Tooty posted their first fully animated video clip to TikTok[2] and Instagram, a depiction of their current mood as noted by the caption (shown below).

On February 7th, Tooty posted an original animation interpreting a clip from a Jenna Marbles video to TikTok,[3] garnering over 2.2 million views in two years. She uploaded the clip to YouTube on Febraury 9th, garnering another 2.2 million views (shown below).

Tooty's animations continued to increase in quality over the course of the year, many of them making direct references to memes. For example, two animations in March of that year referenced both Crab Rave and Yee (shown below, left and right).

Phrog Animations

On October 8th, 2019, TootyMcNooty posted a Frog and Cranberries It Must Be Fall animation of two frogs singing in the rain, garnering over 9.6 million views in two years (shown below).

Tooty continued to upload frog-themed animations over the course of 2019 and 2020, regularly referring to them as "phrogs." The cute style of the phrog is particularly praised by fans, quickly becoming a fan favorite in animations (examples shown below, left and right).

On October 11th, 2020, Tooty uploaded a compilation of her phrog animations to YouTube, garnering over 360,000 views in seven months (shown below).

On November 1st, Tooty began selling phrog plushies on her website.[4] On February 24th, 2021, Tooty collaborated with YouTuber zamsire on an Eggdog animation, garnering over 1.1 million views in six months (shown below).

On March 19th, TootyMcNooty posted a 5-minute long parody educational video about the lifecycle her phrog character, garnering over 1.6 million views in two months (shown below).

On May 17th, TootyMcNooty posted a redraw of a frog with a defined butt in the style of her phrog to Instagram,[5] garnering over 64,000 likes in two days (shown below, original right).

Online Presence

TootyMcNooty has gained a significant following since first posting in 2018, with over 6 million followers on TikTok, her largest platform. Tooty's animations have inspired numerous works of fan art, most based around her phrog drawing (example shown below from Deviant Art).[6]
