About

Asif Khan is a comedian and content creator best known for a TikTok handle @TooApree, where he trolls recruiters during job interviews over video call. Khan began posting comedy videos to his Instagram in 2019 and posted his first job interview in October 2020. In 2021, job listing website Indeed moved to sue Khan for fraud and wrongful usage of their property following complaints from recruiters about Khan's inappropriate behavior. In 2023, the creator pivoted to making "First Amendment Audit" style content, where he tested the limits of the First Amendment by filming public spaces.

Online History

On October 23rd, 2020, TikToker[1] @tooapree posted his first job interview video to TikTok, gathering over 100,000 plays and 7,000 likes in three years (seen below).

Khan's first video to cross a million views was posted on December 28th, 2020, where he could be seen giving a job interview over video call while jogging. The video[2] gathered over 1 million plays and 160,000 likes in three years (seen below, left). One of Khan's most reposted clips[3] was posted on March 9th, 2021, where he gave an interview while driving through a drive-through, and lied to the recruiter saying that he wasn't ordering food. The post gathered over 27 million views in two years (seen below, right).

Khan also posted videos to his YouTube,[5] as seen in a February 16th, 2021 post that gathered over 1 million views in two years (seen below).

Indeed Lawsuit

On April 23rd, 2023, Indeed filed a lawsuit against Asif Khan in the state of Texas, accusing him of using the company's interview app to generate content for personal gain, harassing unsuspecting recruiters, and violating other laws. Indeed noted that they were first made aware of Khan's presence when they received a complaint from a user in September 2020, saying that he appeared for an interview "shirtless and acting inappropriately."[4]

Indeed also found that Khan had violated their terms of service by making multiple accounts with fake names and information to apply for hundreds of jobs, 90 of which were posted to his TikTok.

Pivot To 'First Amendment Audit' Content

In 2023, Khan pivoted to making "First Amendment Audit" content, filming in public spaces until he received pushback from workers or police. Khan saw a spike in views after shifting to First Amendment Audit style content, gathering over 240,000 views on a March 16th, 2023 post[6] titled, "Chill Indian Guy Quietly Films the A/C in a Library and This Happens" (seen below, left).

On April 4th, 2023, he posted a video[7] titled, "This Might be the Funniest "First Amendment Audit" of 2023," gathering over 320,000 views in eight months (seen below, right).
