About

Ternura68 is a TikToker most known for her live stream videos, TikTok duets and stitches. Her videos gained popularity around December 2021 due to the original way in which she responds to her "haters" on the platform. The user behind ternura68 is a psychologist named Maribel López who has accumulated over 2.7 million followers, 29 million views and multiple viral sounds based on her TikTok videos.

Origin

On November 5th, 2020, the Mexican creator Maribel psychologist López joined TikTok[1] with the username ternura68, posting content of her daily life such as food recipes and funny "good morning" edited videos. She would start gaining more followers in May 2021 after a duet post of someone drawing an emoji combination while she is recording herself and asking people to "support the art." The video has 854,000 views in eighteen months.

Spread

Ternura68 became more popular around November 2021 when she began to do regular live streams on TikTok. In these, she would often invite other creators to sing, and also answered followers and haters trying to make fun of her. The fan account @ternura_lives posted a clip of one of the first live streams the creator posted on TikTok.[3]

@lapepona68_ is one of ternura68 fans that would join several of the creator's live streams on TikTok. On December 13th, 2021, she posted the first time[2] ternura68 welcomed her on a live stream. However, Ternura realized @lapepona68_ was joining the lives just to make fun of and on December 28th, 2021, after receiving some gifts from "lapepona68" during a live, Ternura commented that "La Pepo always comes here wanting to attract attention, I don't know what fixation she has or I don't know what goes through her mind. I don't know if, because she gives a nickname like that, people think the same or have the same vision as her or him," she says in the video below, reposted by @gabyabyxd on TikTok.[4]

Ternura68's comment about @lapepona68_ was turned into a viral TikTok audio trend with the phrase "bendiciones, la Pepo," which can be translated to "blessings, la Pepo." People used the sound for comedy skits on relatable situations in which the subject/emotions change abruptly, for example, this skit by @scarday on TikTok[5] explaining how she feels about her boyfriend so. The post from January 16th, 2022, received 721,000 views and 133,000 likes in 9 months.
