About

Tehnoobshow (aka Bob) is a Youtuber known for creating Runescape machinimas with self-referential humor that poke fun at his status of being a perpetual noob in the game, as he ironically calls everyone the same name.

Background

With the launch of Runescape 2 in 2004, the game entered a golden age with a large player presence. Player-versus-player combat was a popular activity within a specialized area known as the Wilderness. Machinimas were frequently made in this version of Runescape and quickly became popular with the community for their comedic entertainment; they remain a source of nostalgia.

Tehnoobshow created the first episode of his namesake series on July 26th, 2008.^[1] It followed his adventures around the game as he became a target of disasters, assassinations, scams and other mean-spirited players because of his perceived weakness from low skills as well as his general gullibility as a noob. A player since Runescape 2, he is regarded as one of the original famous Oldschoolers and one of the few remaining video-makers as other known players (e.g. Dark Arm3, Maxboison, Excl, Vodka5) have already retired from the game.^[2] He remains active now on RS 3 mostly and is a link between RS 2 Old Schoolers and Runescape 3 EOC (Evolution of Combat) players.

Runescape Gods Exposed

Runescape Gods Exposed is a non-canon sitcom series that follows the daily lives of the three main gods of Runescape – Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix – as they struggle with being stuck on Gielenor and dealing with its citizens. Most of the time. Saradomin and Zamorak bicker about the most trivial things with the mighty warrior Gonthorian attempting to fix things between the three, while Guthix's mind wanders off due to his toddler-like attention span and intelligence.

Talking to Famous Noobs

This series documents Bob interviewing various famous Runescape players who are known for their in-game achievements (e.g. high skills, rare collectibles in their possession, evil chicken) or through their work on YouTube and collaborations with Bob.

Bob IRL

Bob IRL was a series that documents the real life of Bob (a stuffed toy monkey) as he struggles with life at home with his housecat while calling everybody a noob.

Bob's Runescape Tips

Bob's Runescape Tips is an instructional series that gives erroneous advice to new players with the intent on helping them progress within the game (e.g. How to spot a noob).

Online Presence

As of January 2016, his channel, Tehnoobworld, has 181,264 subscribers.^[1] His avatar is the default avatar given to players when starting in Runescape 2, notoriously known as the stereotypical image of Runescape gold and resource farming bots, commonly found swarming resource gathering spots in the game with low level gear. His Facebook fan page has over 17,000 likes.^[3]
