About

Skweezy Jibbs is an alter ego character portrayed in vlogs by comedian Tim Savage, who is known for his exuberant style of speech and travels around the world. The characters wear a sideways baseball cap and texts in all-caps. The Skweezy sense of humor often revolves around outlandish premises and the character ending up in unexpected places and situations.

Career

Early on, Jibbs posted photos, commentary, and vlogs about his travels and experiences. For example, his July 10, 2011 post (seen below left) about encountering a giraffe received over 20,000 likes over the course of twelve years.[3] Over the course of his decade-plus of posting, several Skweezy stunts have broken through into broader coverage. For example, a Skweezy TikTok video depicting him confused during a massive riot in Colombia, posted in February 20th, 2023, earned over 1.7 million likes and 14 million views (seen below right).[6]

Skweezy Jibbs content also involves politically-themed jokes, which revolve around creating an impression of conservatism but actually end up with the character seeming to endorse a liberal view, but in an absurdist way.[9] His attempt to visit the headquarters of the Black Lives Matter movement and offer his support, which he mistook for the headquarters of the Bureau of Land Management, earned over 4 million views and half a million likes in two weeks after a repost to TIkTok on July 27th, 2023.[7] The original joke was posted on Instagram on July 13th, 2020 earning over 15,000 likes in three years.[8]

Other famous Skweezy bits included driving to several Wendy's locations in the Pacific Northwest in search of chicken nuggets in 2021 in a post which earned a reply from the official Wendy's account (seen below left).[4] A 2017 Facebook post which earned over 25,000 likes and 20,000 shares showed him allegedly naming a child "Fidgit Spinner" (seen below right) and was covered by outlets such as Mashable and BoredPanda.[6]

In 2022, Skweezy embarked on a live tour, booking shows across the United States.[9] As of 2023, Skweezy Jibbs is seeking to crowdfund a full movie on Kickstarter, with a goal of raising $250,000.[10]

Online History

Skweezy Jibbs has been active on YouTube since 2007, consistently posting videos as the Skweezy Jibbs persona where he has almost 56,000 followers as of August 2023.[11] He also runs a Facebook page that has been active since July of 2011 and where, as of August 2023, he has over 450,000 followers.[2] Skweezy has also been active on X (formerly Twitter) since March of 2009, and has over 168,000 followers on that platform as of August 2023.[1] On TikTok, Skweezy Jibbs boasts over 4 million followers.[5] On Instagram, Jibbs has over 544,000 followers as of August 2023.[8]
