Samantha Ramsdell, also known as the Largest Mouth in the World, is a content creator who holds the Guinness World Record for woman with the world's largest mouth gape at 6.52 cm. Ramsdell gained a significant following on social media, especially TikTok, starting in 2019 and went viral in July 2021, the month her record was officiated. Ramsdell has over 3.2 million followers on TikTok and 120,000 on Instagram, her most prominent platforms.

Online History

Samantha Ramsdell started posting content on TikTok^[1] (@samramsdell) on July 31st, 2019. Prior to this, she was most active on Instagram^[2] (samramsdell5). On January 11th, 2020, she posted her first video to TikTok^[3] to gain over a million views (shown below). In the video she answers several questions about her mouth, saying it's "abnormally large" and that she can fit her whole fist in her mouth, garnering over 1.7 million views in two years.

Ramsdell gained a following over the following years, finding the most success through videos referencing her large mouth and her comedy videos. On July 13th, she posted a comedy video to TikTok^[4] that garnered over 1.7 million views in two years. On August 16th, she posted a video to TikTok^[5] where she does the chubby bunny challenge, garnering over 300,000 views in two years (shown below, left). On December 9th, she posted a video to TikTok^[6] where she eats a Subway sandwich, putting the whole width of the sub in her mouth, garnering over 4 million views in two years (shown below, right).

By mid-2021, Ramsdell gained a notable following, with the majority of her videos gaining hundreds of thousands to millions of views. Her content ranges from comedy skits to lip dubs to eating videos, the majority showing off the size of her mouth.

Guinness World Record

On July 28th, 2021, Guinness World Records^[7] published an article and a video on YouTube^[8] (shown below) about Ramsdell, announcing that she is officially the world record holder for the world's "largest mouth gape" in the women's category. The video gained over 1.2 million views in a year.

On August 1st, Ramsdell posted a video to TikTok^[9] doing the Questions I Get Asked trend to answer questions about having the world's largest mouth, garnering over 11 million views in a year (shown below). On August 2nd, CNN^[10] reported on the record. On August 3rd, People^[11] reported on the record.
