Saiman Says is an Indian YouTuber that makes reaction and parody videos about Indian cringe content. The creator first went viral for getting involved in the 2018 subscriber war between Pewdiepie and T-Series. The creator also reacts to memes on the subreddit dedicated to his channel, /r/SaimanSays. Saiman's tendency to discuss and react to popular Indian teen content has made him one of the most notable solo Indian comedy YouTubers as of 2022.

Background

Saiman Says, born Saimandar Waghdhare on November 9th, 1995 is an Indian YouTuber, best known for his PewDiePie billboard stunt in India. He first began uploading videos to his YouTube channel on April 2nd 2011, with a video titled, "Extreme Parkour Fail."[1] It gathered over 100,000 views in 11 years (seen below, left). His first video as a professional YouTuber was posted on May 27th, 2016, titled, "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna | St. Xavier's College, Mumbai," the beginning of which translates to "Never say goodbye."[2] The video gathered over 60,000 views in six years (seen below, right).

Developments

In 2018, Saiman involved himself in the Great Subscriber War of 2018, which took place between veteran YouTuber Pewdiepie and the YouTube channel for Indian record label "T-Series." On November 2nd of 2018, Saiman uploaded a spoof video claiming to have bought several billboards promoting T-series around Mumbai. The video gathered nearly 800,000 views in four years (seen below).[3]

On November 21st, 2018, Pewdiepie reacted to Saiman's video in an upload that gathered over 7 million views in four years (seen below).[4] The two also went on to collaborate in a video posted to Saiman's page on May 2nd, 2019, gathering over 5.5 million views (seen below, right).[5] The video remains Saiman's most-watched upload as of 2022.

As of December 2022, Saiman's Instagram page @hisaimansays has gathered over 190,000 followers.[6] The most popular upload on the account was posted on December 18th, 2022, gathering over 130,000 likes in ten days.[7]

Saiman's Twitter[8] has over 39,000 followers, with its most popular post having been made on May 2nd, 2019 to promote his video with Pewdiepie.[9]

Saiman's subreddit /r/SaimanSays was created on November 25th, 2018 and has gathered over 490,000 readers.[10]
