On March 26th, 2011 NME^[15] reported that Rebecca Black was working on a debut album:

Rebecca Black isn't going to rest on her laurels after the online storm she's cause with 'Friday' – she's making a full album. *The much-derided singer has already planned the follow-up to the internet smash single: a number called 'LOL'.

On July 11th, the official fan site RebeccaBlack.com^[19] announced that the 14-year-old YouTube sensation will be releasing a new single called "My Moment" via her YouTube channel on July 18th, as well as a five-song EP album which will be self-released without a label in August.

On July 18th, Rebecca Black released the music video for her new single "My Moment" on her official YouTube^[20] channel:

Within 24 hours the video had reached over 2.6 million views with 81,782 likes and 137,305 dislikes.

Trendistic showed a large spike in "Rebecca Black" usage on Twitter immediately after the video was released at 6pm on July 18th, 2011. What The Trend^[21] reported that "Rebecca Black" became a trending topic on Twitter the following day.
