Overview

Queef Jerky is a meme rap group consisting of musician Dev Lemons and YouTuber nickisnotgreen. The group's music features comedic lyrics and has been celebrated online for its production. Queef Jerky released their first album, QUEEFLEMANIA, in October 2022, followed by the album THE MICHIGAN LEFT in May 2023 and QUEEF UNDERGROUND that July. That month, the single "PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN" went viral on TikTok as the group promoted it.

History

QUEEFLEMANIA

Queef Jerky, consisting of Dev Lemons and Nickisnotgreen, started posting on the Instagram[1] page queefjerky2022 on October 22nd, 2022, six days prior to their premiere album QUEEFLEMANIA. On October 27th, Nick and Dev Lemons livestreamed a listening party on Nick's YouTube[2] channel greenisnotnick, garnering over 37,000 views in nine months (shown below).

On October 28th, QUEEFLEMANIA was published on streaming platforms, including Spotify[3] and the nickisnotgreen YouTube[4] channel, garnering over 35,000 views on the latter in nine months (shown below). The album garnered an average rating over 2.86/5 on Rate Your Music[5] with around 78 ratings.

THE MICHIGAN LEFT

On May 5th, 2023, a music video for the song "LLC" off the group's second album, THE MICHIGAN LEFT, was posted to the he said us YouTube channel, also run by Nick, garnering over 12,000 views in two months (shown below, left). On May 12th, Queef Jerky released the album on streaming platforms including Spotify.[6] The album garnered an average rating of 2.9/5 on RYM[7] with around 120 ratings. The full album was uploaded to the he said us YouTube[8] channel, also run by Nick, a day prior (shown below, right).

QUEEF UNDERGROUND / "Pineapple Upside Down"

On July 7th, 2023, a music video for the single "Pineapple Upside Down," featuring YouTuber ethan is online, from the group's third album QUEEF UNDERGROUND, was posted to the Queef Jerky YouTube[11] channel, garnering over 128,000 views in three weeks (shown below).

On July 14th, Dev Lemons began promoting the song, posting a video to TikTok[9] calling it the "song of the summer," garnering over 280,000 views in two weeks. She posted several other videos to TikTok using the song over the next few weeks, including a video posted to TikTok[10] on July 22nd, garnering over 723,000 views in six days (shown below).

On July 28th, the album QUEEF UNDERGROUND was released on streaming platforms, including Spotify.[12]

Online Presence

As of July 2023, Queef Jerky has a YouTube[13] channel with over 14,000 subscribers, an Instagram[14] page with over 20,000 followers and a TikTok[15] page with over 6,000 followers (all using the handle @queefjerky2022).

Pineapple Upside Down

As Queef Jerky promoted their single "Pineapple Upside Down" on TikTok throughout July 2023, the song gained notable popularity on the app. On July 26th, TikToker[16] @shaggyr0gers posted a lip dub to the song, garnering over 42,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On July 27th, TikToker[17] @lovejoycovers posted a Minecraft parody song based on the track, garnering over 50,000 views in under 24 hours (shown below, right).
