Overview

Punchmade Dev or PunchMadeDev is a scam rapper and alleged scam artist who gained a considerable fanbase throughout the 2020s on sites including YouTube and TikTok for his music, which often features lyrics about scamming, including full tutorials on how to pull various scams. In July 2023, Punchmade Dev released a song titled "Wire Fraud Tutorial" that gives step-by-step instructions on how to commit wire fraud. The song was removed from YouTube following Punchmade's arrest later that month after he allegedly attempted to buy a TV from Walmart with a dumped credit card. Punchmade was streaming with Adin Ross at the time. Some believe that Punchmade's content is fake.

History

Punchmade Dev released his first song on YouTube[1] on July 2nd, 2021, titled "Internet Swiping." He published a music video for the song on July 9th, garnering over 463,000 views in two years (shown below, left). The song and music video feature lyrics and footage referencing scamming. Punchmade steadily released more music over the following years, gaining over 289,000 monthly listeners on Spotify[2] and 120,000 subscribers on YouTube[3] by 2023. On January 1st, 2022, Punchmade released a music video for the song "How To Write A Dump," garnering over 1.3 million views in a year (shown below, right). The song features lyrics about how to make money by hacking credit.

In May 2022, Punchmade Dev started posting music video clips to the @punchmadedev TikTok[4] account, gaining over 280,000 followers in a year. On July 21st, Punchmade started posting content to Instagram,[5] the majority of photos featuring him flexing his wealth, including his credit card chains. On October 31st, he released the song "Punch Anthem," also featuring lyrics about scamming, garnering over 712,000 views in nine months (shown below).

On May 21st, 2023, Punchmade released a song on YouTube[13] titled "Long Live Heather" where he raps about pressing and lacing pills and selling them to people on the streets with the purpose of killing them, garnering over 890,000 views in two months (shown below).

Tommy G Video

On July 10th, 2023, YouTuber[6] Tommy G posted a video where he hangs out with Punchmade Dev. In the video, Punchmade explains how he scams people and why, garnering over 3.6 million views in 10 days (shown below). In the video, Tommy films Punchmade wire scamming someone in real time. He also calls himself the "LeBron of scamming" and says he tells his mother that he "does crypto" when she asks how he makes money.

Wire Fraud Tutorial

On July 15th, Punchmade Dev posted a song titled "Wire Fraud Tutorial" to YouTube, which has since been removed (re-upload shown below). The song's lyrics give a step-by-step tutorial on how to commit wire fraud. Complex[7] reported on the song that day.

Arrest / Stream With Adin Ross / Removal Of 'Wire Fraud Tutorial'

On July 17th, 2023, Adin Ross uploaded a clip from his Kick stream to YouTube[8] where he talks with Punchmade Dev over a Facetime call. At the start of the call, Punchmade says he's about to "bust a play." He then does a credit card dump[9] in front of Ross allegedly using Ross' banking information. Punchmade then enters Walmart to buy a TV. Punchmade Dev has trouble scanning the TV at the kiosk and gets recognized by someone in the store. He eventually manages to swipe the card and purchase the TV. The call disconnects as Punchmade is walking out of Walmart.

On July 18th, Adin Ross uploaded another clip to Youtube[10] from his Kick stream where Punchmade calls Ross from jail to discuss what happened. He explains that an employee knew who he was and told him to stay where he is while he was scanning the TV. The employee told another co-worker about him. Punchmade explains that as he was walking out, some more people recognized him from the Tommy G video. Punchmade ran for it and went home, but the police showed up later, Punchmade believed that someone got his license plate number and reported it to the police. The police detained Punchmade and took him in for questioning (shown below).

The music video for "Wire Fraud Tutorial" was removed from YouTube that day. Later that day, Punchmade Dev shared a series of messages on his Instagram Stories between himself and YouTube support asking why the video was removed, to which they responded that it was removed at the request of "outside sources" (shown below).[11] It has been suggested that the police had the video removed.[12]

Punchmade Dev Claims He Steals From Adin Ross

On July 28th, 2023, Punchmade Dev posted a new video to his YouTube[14] (since deleted) called "PUNCHMADE DEV EXPOSED" in which he had a voice changer on and concealed his face. The video was quickly deleted by YouTube, similar to his precursor music video. At one point in the video, Punchmade Dev claimed that he'd already scammed Adin Ross out of millions by taking $10,000 from him every day. The clip was posted by Twitter[15] user @ykkswb on July 30th, 2023, where it gained roughly 4.2 million views and 17,800 likes in two days (shown below).

Punchmade Dev is active on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. His content has become the viral subject of reactions and memes on TikTok (examples shown below).
