About

Quincy Lamont Williams, best known by his stage name Peewee Longway or the Blue M&M, is an American hip-hop artist from Atlanta best known for his whimsical stage name, glittery beats, iconic look and enigmatic album covers. He has been making songs since 2013 under Gucci Mane's label 1017 Records. He was born on August 17th, 1984, and is 36 years old.

Online History

Peewee Longway began rapping under Gucci Mane's label in 2013, appearing on a mixtape with him called Money, Pounds, Ammunition.[1] His most notable mixtape came a year later in 2014, titled Blue M&M. Blue M&M Vol. II: King Size came out a year later, followed by other Blue M&M-themed mixtapes years later, such as Blue M&M 3 and Blue M&M 4, all with their own fancy cover depicting a thugged out version of the blue M&M character (shown below). His obsession with the color blue reportedly comes from his crip association. According to FADER,[2] he has a massive blue M&M tattoo on his back.

He has been featured alongside multiple artists, including Rich Homie Quan, Migos, 2 Chainz, Rich the Kid, Travis Scott, Young Thug and many others. The album Loaded is a notable collaboration between him and Young Thug.[1]

He is also part of a rap group called "Felix Brothers," which includes Young Dolph and Gucci Mane. Overall, he has been a key player in the underground Atlanta trap scene for a long time and is an unsung hero among many of his more famous peers. He is also credited along with other Atlanta rappers for popularizing the dab. [3]

On February 24th, 2017, Peewee Longway was interviewed by DJ Vlad for the VladTV YouTube channel. He first began to gain meme momentum from this interview because of the way he dodged DJ Vlad's questions about his street lifestyle. A 10-minute excerpt from this part of the interview posted to YouTube (shown below) gained 1.8 million views since 2017, while a more edited version posted in 2019 by the YouTube channel Workout Demons (shown below) gained 2 million views in roughly two years.

Screenshots of Longway from this video made their way into some meme content as well, comparing Longway's appearance to the Pot of Greed from Yu-Gi-Oh (example seen below).

In years following the 2017 interview, people began to take notice of his Blue M&M album covers and the absurd universe they encapsulated. Memes using the imagery from these albums began to circulate Reddit, iFunny and Twitter in the following years.

Subreddits such as /r/CartoonGangsters[4] quickly became a home for the Blue M&M imagery. On March 31st, 2021, the Blue M&M imagery became notable again after Twitter[5] user @Bruhsepheus made a joke about the Vol. 2 album cover selling for 5,000 ETH (roughly $65 million at the time) as an NFT (shown below).

"OOOWWWEEE" TikTok Dance Trend

On November 26th, 2020, TikToker @thats.so.bre used audio from Peewee's song "OOOWWWEEE" to make a dance craze umbrellaed under the hashtag "#brexpapercut." The trend caught on and other more notable TikTokers like Charli D'Amelio hopped onto the trend, using the same Peewee Longway audio and gaining 8.1 million likes in roughly eight months (examples shown below).
