Related Explainer: Who Is Anti-Feminist Influencer Pearl Davis? The Conservative Who Thinks Women Shouldn't Have Voting Rights Explained
Overview
Pearl Davis, also known as Hannah Pearl Davis, is a conservative commentator, influencer and YouTube personality well-known for her anti-feminist content, as well as for writing and performing an anti-Semitic song dedicated to far-right white supremacist Nick Fuentes. Since emerging online in the early 2020s, Davis has gathered a notable following on her YouTube channel JustPearlyThings and her Twitter account @PearlyThingz, where she primarily makes content promoting "trad" values and gender inequality.
History
Hannah Pearl Davis is a Chicago, Illinois native and former college athlete who initially grew an internet following on her now-deleted TikTok in the early 2020s. Davis was born on November 4th, 1996, to her parents and software entrepreneurs Dan and Jennifer Davis, with Jennifer once serving on the board of directors for UN Women USA, a charity that supports United Nations gender-equality programs.[4][13]
Around 2020, Davis gathered an online following on TikTok by posting videos about her life and family. One of Davis's earliest viral videos was a series on how her father used a loophole to install a large water slide on his property, a construction that was heavily derided by the town they were living in. Davis's TikTok has been deleted since the videos were uploaded in 2020 but can be accessed via reuploads (example seen below).[1]
Davis says that the aforementioned water slide series got her over "15,000 followers overnight." Davis expands on her start in content creation and her long-term goals of being "in media" in a Q&A she posted to her YouTube on November 30th, 2020 (seen below).[2] In the Q&A, Davis also says that while she has a ways to go in terms of guitar lessons and vocal training, "at some point" she would "love to do music." Davis also delves into her Christian faith, asserting that a lot of people don't realize how religious she is.
Davis grew her YouTube audience by making videos about dating and the Manosphere. One of her earliest viral videos was posted on March 12th, 2022, titled, "DEBATE: Should Men Be Blamed For LEAVING Women Who Gain 50+ Pounds? | Feminist vs. Pearl," and gathered over 100,000 views in a year.[3] Davis also grew famous for her brief relationship with Oneya D'Amelio, famous for the content he makes on his "AngryReactions" TikTok channel (seen below).[6] Pearl also moved to London sometime before 2023.
Online Presence
Pearl Davis grew her audience after she posted a video titled, " Andrew Tate & Pearl DEBATE Modern Women | The Pregame Ep 100" on December 25, 2022. The video showed Manosphere influencer Andrew Tate just days before his arrest on sex trafficking charges by Romanian police shortly after. The video gathered over 5 million views in seven months (seen below).[5]
On June 14th, 2023, Davis appeared on the H3H3 podcast to debate Ethan Klein where he challenged her ideas about female subservience by discussing her own mother's success. The video gathered over 2.1 million views in a month (seen below, left),[7] and a highlight from the stream gathered over 80,000 views in a month (seen below, right).[8]
On June 28th, Davis uploaded a video to her Twitter asserting that women should not be allowed to vote. The post gathered over 1.3 million views and 7,000 likes in a month (seen below).[9]
Anti-Semitic Song and Piers Morgan Appearance
On July 21st, 2023, Pearl Davis took to her Twitter to post a song she wrote and dedicated to white supremacist and far-right activist Nick Fuentes. The video was captioned, "ok I made a song about the those who can't be named don't kick me off Twitter okay."[10]
Some lyrics from the song are shown below:
"why can’t we talk about the Jews?"
"I am not saying that Hitler was a good guy, but I kind of want to know why…"
"Now there’s all these conspiracy theories, and the more they talk I think ‘maybe they are right’ but I can’t even listen to the convo… I can’t even have the conversation without getting canceled by the left and the right."
Later that month, Davis was then invited onto conservative talk show host Piers Morgan's show, where she was seemingly caught off guard by Morgan's hardball questioning. The interview was subsequently spread online in the following days. For example, Twitter[11] user @kidology_co posted a clip from the show on July 28th and was quote tweeted by Twitter user @JUNlPER,[12] gathering over 27,000 likes and 40,000 likes, respectively, in five days (seen below).
