Nia Noir or NiaNoir.xo, also known as NiaBasic, is an AI influencer and model generated as an exceptionally dark-skinned girl who contrasts her pitch-black skin with colorful outfits. The Nia Noir TikTok and Instagram accounts were launched in late December 2025, the former gaining over 3 million followers in just over a month. She garnered criticism as she went viral for being AI-generated and purportedly stealing content from TikToker @tatianakaer, essentially reskinning her dance videos with Nia.

Origin

On December 21st, 2025, the first video of Nia Noir was posted to the @nianoir.xo TikTok^[1] account, garnering over 13.8 million views in just over a month. On December 24th, the first video went up on the niabasic Instagram^[2] page.

Nia Noir's TikTok account went viral over the following weeks, garnering over 3 million followers by February 2026, though some suspect they are bots.

On December 28th, 2025, a dance video was uploaded to the TikTok^[3] account that gained over 332 million views and 18 million likes in just over a month.

On December 31st, a video went up on the nianoir.xo TikTok^[4] account that gained over 175 million views in a month.

Spread

In late December 2025 and January 2026, online discourse about Nia Noir increased as more people learned that she was an AI influencer and that her videos were allegedly stolen from TikToker @tatianakaer.

On December 30th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @maddiequinn66 posted a video showing several examples of Nia Noir and @tatianakaer's videos side-by-side, suggesting that whoever runs Nia's account essentially reskins @tatianakaer's videos with Nia, garnering over 3 million views in a month.

On January 6th, 2026, YouTuber^[6] kat 'n chat posted a video where she talks about Nia Noir and the theft of AI, garnering over 21,000 views in a month.

On January 14th, TikToker^[7] @noahglenncarter posted a video about the influencer that gained over 415,000 views in a month.

On February 2nd, 2026, X^[8] user @kim_2k04 reposted one of Nia's videos, writing, "She is Literally so beautiful, omg 🥹" garnering over 7,000 likes and 479,000 views in two days.

Similar Accounts

Nia Noir is one of several notable AI influencer accounts depicting an exceptionally dark-skinned girl, and the phenomenon of AI-generated creators with extremely black skin color began garnering attention throughout early 2026.

For example, a discussion thread on the /r/blackgirls^[10] subreddit first appeared on January 6th, 2026, receiving nearly 140 upvotes and 60 comments in a month. A similar post on January 26th also appeared on the /r/blackladies^[11] subreddit, calling the trend "digital blackface."

On December 7th, 2025, the Instagram^[9] page for AI influencer Ayannasoblack posted its first piece of content, a series of photos of Ayanna, a girl depicted with dark black skin. The influencer gained over 700,000 followers in two months and pre-dates Nia Noir.
