Meow Dalyn is a Twitch streamer and content creator who roleplays as a dog named Meow, referring to herself as a "dog girl." Dalyn began streaming in mid-2020 and gained a steady following over the next few years, becoming increasingly popularized in early 2024 as the media began reporting on her dog identity. She has been compared to other people who identify as dogs, including Jenna Phillips and Toco. By March 2024, Dalyn garnered over 16,000 Twitch followers.

History

Meow Dalyn's earliest known posts to social media are two posts to her Instagram^[1][2] account, meowdalyn, on December 16th and 19th, 2017, which appear to predate her dog lifestyle. On July 13th, 2020, Dalyn hosted her first Twitch^[3] stream according to Twitch Tracker.^[4] On August 16th, 2021, she posted her first photo as Meow to Instagram,^[5] writing, "sit… good 💖 now gimme ur paw 🐾🦴," garnering over 2,200 likes in three years (shown below).

Dalyn used to run a TikTok^[6] page under the username @meowdalyn, but it has since been banned. She now has the TikTok^[7] page @barkdalyn, although it is private. Throughout 2021, numerous TikTokers^[8][9] duetted to her TikTok content, in which she acts like a dog, offering partial archives of her videos (examples shown below).

On January 13th, 2022, Meow Dalyn uploaded her first video to YouTube,^[10] consisting of a Twitch stream VOD, garnering around 4,000 views in two years. Between January and March 2024, she uploaded three compilations of her TikTok content to YouTube^[11][12][13] (shown below, left and right).

Online Presence

On February 4th, 2024, Dalyn appeared on an episode of the Whatever Podcast on YouTube that garnered over 277,000 views in a month (shown below).

On March 14th, Dalyn appeared on an interview with Australian television hosts Kyle and Jackie O. During the interview, she explained that she has "handlers" rather than a boyfriend, who do things like take her on walks and feed her. A clip of the interview was uploaded to the kyleandjackieo Instagram^[14] page that day, garnering over 4,700 likes in four days (shown below).

That day, the New York Post^[15] and News.AU^[16] reported on the interview, highlighting Dalyn's claims that she sleeps in a crate and uses the bathroom outside when able. On March 15th, Dexerto^[17] reported on Dalyn, also posting about her on X,^[18] garnering over 23,000 likes in three days (shown below).
