Jojas Makes Videos is a comedy YouTube channel which mainly posts parody ASMR videos and challenges. Online, screenshots of multiple videos posted on the channel have been circulated as memes, primarily due to their humorous titles.

Online History

On July 9th, 2016, YouTube account Jojas Makes Videos was created.^[1] The first video on the account, titled "My first QnA (NOT SEXUAL)" was posted on February 25th, 2018, gaining a total of 37 views in 16 months (currently unlisted).^[2]

The account first gained recognition with November 15th, 2018, video "ASMR to help u sleep – I beat u up until you become unconscious" which gained over 600,000 views in eight months (shown below, left).^[3] On December 7th, 2018, Redditor Huniwatnya1 posted the first known meme based on Jojas Makes Videos' video to /r/meirl subreddit, where it gained over 23,300 upvotes in six months, promoting the popularity of the channel (shown below, right).^[4]

In the following months, Jojos Makes Videos uploaded more similar content on his channel, posting parody ASMR and challenge videos such as "Not saying the N word for an ENTIRE minute – challenge", "I blind myself so I can't see my exam results" and "I pranked myself by going to school 18 years for nothing", many of which were followed by similar screenshot posts on Instagram, Reddit, iFunny and other online platforms (shown below).^[5]^[6]^[7]

As of June 20nd, 2019, "ASMR to help u sleep – I beat u til ur unconscious (again)" is the most-watched video on the channel with a total of 2.3 million views.^[8]

Personal Life

As of June 20nd, 2019, no public information aside from the Jojas' first name could be discovered online. By his own admission, most of the top videos posted on the channel have been demonitized by YouTube.^[9]
