About

Joe Bartolozzi (@joe.bartolozzi) is a TikToker, YouTuber and Twitch streamer most known for his reaction videos, TikTok Duets and stitches that use the green-screen effect where he often wears the same white Carhartt beanie or Teddy Fresh beanie. He started posting content to TikTok sometime in 2019. Since then, he's amassed a following of over 19 million. Joe Bartolozzi memes surfaced in late 2021, many using a re-edited "I've Been In The Hills Fucking Dudes" song.

Background

Joe Bartolozzi was born in southern New Jersey and early on in his life, he went to St. Augustine Preparatory High School where he was a track and field athlete who ran hurdles.[1] He was born on February 6th, 2002, and as of July 2022, he is 20 years old. He is also notably a weightlifter and physical fitness
practitioner.

Online History

Bartolozzi's online presence started on Instagram in 2017. He'd casually upload photos and selfies, starting with his first Instagram[2] post on June 23rd, 2017. Bartolozzi would later become known for his TikTok presence, starting in either late 2019 or early 2020. It is unknown what date Bartolozzi first uploaded, however, the earliest Internet Archive [3] of his account was logged on May 8th, 2020.

As evident in reaganlevi's video, Bartolozzi's first TikTok received roughly 132,100 plays in one year (shown below, left). On September 24th, 2021, Bartolozzi posted a stitch[5] with reaganlevi's video, revealing that the TikTok shown was not his first video ever. Instead, it was one that was deleted by the algorithm. In 10 months, Bartolozzi's video received roughly 5.2 million plays and 1.2 million likes (shown below, right).

As of July 2022, Bartolozzi's first still-accessible TikTok[6] video was uploaded on July 7th, 2020, and received roughly 297,100 plays and 38,500 likes in two years (shown below). Within it, he talked about the possible U.S. TikTok Ban and asked his followers to also follow him on Instagram in case the ban went through. At that time, his TikTok had roughly 2.1 million followers.

Around the same time as the aforementioned TikTok, Bartolozzi expanded his content to YouTube, uploading his first video on July 6th, 2020. It was titled, "Why I Hate Public Bathrooms," and it was the first episode of his series "Vibe Talks." Over the course of two years, the video received roughly 689,700 views (shown below).

"I've Been In The Hills Fucking Dudes"

In early 2022, fans of Bartolozzi on TikTok started using the app Vinkle to make Vinkle App Edits of a photo of Bartolozzi sitting down in a tanktop. The original photo is from Bartolozzi's Instagram,[15] uploaded on July 9th, 2020, that shows him sitting down on a bus seat next to a barn holding a copy of the Bee Movie. The post received roughly 35,900 likes in two years (shown below).

Drippiest.boi.in.town3's video received roughly 582,600 plays and 78,300 likes in one month.

TikToker drippiest.boi.in.town3 continued to post "Photos" TikToks that showed slideshows of Bartolozzi memes made by them. On July 5th, 2022, Bartolozzi posted a TikTok[17] that screen-recorded drippiest.boi.in.town3's video and reacted to it with the green-screen filter, earning roughly 8 million plays and 1.5 million likes in three weeks (shown below).

More TIkToks surfaced using the song and Bartolozzi's smiling image going into the remainder of July 2022, however, the "I've Been In The Hills Fucking Dudes" sound was removed by TikTok's algorithm in late July 2022. Regardless, reposts were made to Instagram in July 2022 that still included the audio.
