About

Jeremiah Springfield, also known as @frightenedsheep25937582, refers to a video creator on TikTok and Instagram who makes brainrot, Hood Irony edits using CapCut that give people one leg, three legs or one eye (among other visual gags), commonly using flame effects and Goofy Ahh sound effects like a gong. Jeremiah Springfield notably created the Eye of Rah meme in late 2024, which showed a Black man with one eye and a red dread sticking up from his head. Jeremiah Springfield's edits and videos riff on the Hood Cryptids trend involving crudely photoshopped images of Black men that make their fit pics look eery and otherworldly.

Online History

On May 27th, 2024, X[1] user @CatEnjoyer tweeted an image of a man photoshopped to look like a rocket taking off. The man is seen in a blue hat, an "Osaivier" blue and white football jersey and he's giving the camera the middle finger (shown below). The tweet received over 47,000 likes in eight months.

Later on May 27th, X[2] user @blephin_ replied with a different edit, showing the same man in blue skinny jeans with one leg, receiving over 3,300 likes in eight months (shown below). In direct correspondence with Know Your Meme, X user @CatEnjoyer stated he also created the one-leg edit, which was shared in a private Discord server that both users were in.

The man pictured is named @malachiplayaaa. He posted the original unedited versions of himself to X[3] on April 26th, 2024, receiving over 14,000 likes in nine months (shown below).

On June 7th, Jeremiah Springfield shared his first Instagram[4] post to his account @frightenedsheep25937582, which was a photoshopped image that included the one-leg edit of @malachiplayaaa, gaining over 240 likes in seven months.

On June 14th, 2024, Springfield shared a video to both Instagram[5] and TikTok[6] that used the one-leg edit of @malachiplayaaa, including another video that chopped him into pieces like Fruit Ninja. The edit used CapCut effects like flames and a gong sound effect upon the reveal. Over seven months, the video received over 31,000 likes on Instagram and over 356,900 likes on TikTok (shown below).

Springfield continued posting videos that evolved the same visual schtick in the following months. For instance, on June 26th, he posted a TikTok[7] with edited images of rapper NLE Choppa, giving him one-leg like in the abovementioned video. Over seven months, it received roughly 2.6 million plays and 547,600 likes (shown below).

On August 24th, 2024, Springfield shared a TikTok[8] that used the Stone Sliding sound effect and swapped the heads of a father and son, receiving over 3 million plays and 504,300 likes in five months (shown below).

Springfield continued to amass viral videos on both Instagram and TikTok heading into late 2024.

Eye of Rah

On November 26th, 2024, Springfield posted a video to both TikTok[9] and Instagram[10] that showed a man with red dreads reacting to another person's reaction video. The man interrupts the first video by saying, "Ayo chill the fuck out, yo." Springfield's edit gave the man one eye like a cyclops and one dread sticking straight up from his head. On Instagram, the video received over 689,700 likes in two months. On TikTok, it received over 310,400 likes in two months (shown below).

The edit later became known as the Eye of Rah meme as it spread across social media heading into early 2025.
