Jamie Big Sorrel Horse, also known as Jamie Big Sorrel Hor or by his handle @jamie32bsh, is a Native American TikTok creator and influencer most known for his dance video to the song "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado that he recorded in his bathroom mirror. After going viral, Sorrel became a cult icon on the platform, inspiring a dance trend of TikTokers recreating his video in early 2022. He started posting to the platform in mid-2020 and continued his influence to YouTube.

Origin

On April 17th, 2020, Jamie Big Sorrel Horse posted his first TikTok,^[1] a video of him dancing to the song "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd, earning roughly 10.3 million plays and 354,000 likes over the course of two years (shown below, left). Sorrel sporadically posted TikTok content throughout 2020 and 2021, however, it wasn't until early 2022 that he became notable. On January 28th, 2022, Sorrel posted a TikTok^[2] of him dancing in his bathroom mirror to the song "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado, earning roughly 282.5 million plays and 37.6 million likes over the course of one month (shown below, right). After this aforementioned TikTok, multiple users went backward to watch his old videos, liking and commenting on them over the course of February 2022.

Sorrel's video continued to accumulate plays, likes and comments going into February 2022 as he appeared on more users' For You pages. Soon, users started to Duet, stitch or simply recreate his most viral video. The first known TikTok creator to do so was the TikTok^[3] channel cherry.ki, two sisters named Karina and Kamila, who recreated the video on February 13th, earning roughly 5 million plays and 645,000 likes over the course of three weeks (shown below, left). On February 14th, Russian TikToker^[4] justking_real made a stitch with Sorrel, starting with footage of him doing the dance but then cutting to Sorrel mid-way through. His TikTok (shown below, right) received roughly 4.7 million plays and 469,900 likes also over three weeks.

More elaborate iterations started to appear on the platform going into late February 2022. For instance, on February 21st, TikToker^[5] azminzainal_ green-screened himself into Sorrel's original video, earning roughly 27.3 million plays and 2.7 million likes over the course of three weeks (shown below, left). On February 22nd, TikToker^[6] ziilverk posted a version of a CGI Ugandan Knuckles performing the dance, earning roughly 2.3 million plays and 373,500 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
