About
James Sapphire, also known as CurlyHeadJames, refers to a notorious Looksmaxxer who largely popularized Bonesmashing on TikTok in the early 2020s. Sapphire's face is noticeably gaunt with strong cheekbones and a jawline, allegedly achieved via looksmaxxing techniques. He also has curly brown hair. Prior to TikTok fame, Sapphire was an avid user of Looksmax.org under the username curlyheadjames. He became a figure in Incel culture thereafter. He also became a symbol of the dangers of looksmaxxing, bonesmashing and being Blackpilled, according to himself and YouTubers who've covered his life story in viral documentaries. By late 2024, Sapphire deleted all of his social media pages.
Online History
In an interview with Meme Insider, James Sapphire said that he discovered looksmaxxing on a site called lookism.net back in 2019. He said that he bought a hammer soon after to try the bonesmashing technique. "I believe that the dark, mysterious nature of this theory and how it is not very documented appealed to me," he said.[1]
On November 21st, 2021, James Sapphire created an account on looksmax.org under the username curlyheadjames.[2] Some of his earliest, still-accessible posts date back to December 2021, like one shared on December 18th, titled, "THE MOMENT MY MOM REVEALED SHE DOES FART PORN AND ADMITS TO BEING ATTRACTED TO HER OWN SON!" The post included multiple selfies of Sapphire (shown below) and explicit images of his mother.
According to the Incel Wiki,[3] Sapphire became an "an infamous looksmaxxer and rage baiter." The Wiki also alleges that he could be a "fraud" because he might suck in his cheeks while taking photos.
On February 20th, 2023, James Sapphire posted a video to his TikTok[4] account @jamesthebonesmasher that was his first video on the app. In March 2023, his videos about bonesmashing started to amass thousands of views. All of his videos have since been deleted along with his TikTok profile.
On January 22nd, 2024, YouTuber[5] DC1 posted a video called, "The Dangers of LooksMaxxing: Story of James Sapphire," which documented Sapphire's online history up to that point. The video received over 581,900 views in 10 months (shown below).
