Ichiro Suzuki (Japanese: 鈴木一朗, Suzuki Ichiro) is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Miami Marlins, who started his carrier at Orix Bluewave in 1992. He is most known for his career in Seattle, as well as in the Nippon League in Japan.

Uttered by a Seattle sportscaster Rick Rizz in 2001, "Laser Beam" is the most famous catchphrase representing Ichiro's awesome throws from the outfield among Japanese baseball fans. And the footage of his laser beam has been a popular subject for online tributes and parodies.



I'm Getting Excited

"I'm getting excited" (テンション上がってきた, Tension Agatte Kita) refers to a blurred photo of Ichiro which is taken from a TV interview in 2006. Due to its mild lulz, this picture has been one of the well-known expression for expressing someone's excitement in online parodies.

I Was Almost Coming

"I was almost coming" (ほぼイキかけました, Hobo Ikikake Mashita) is a famous dirty joke uttered by Ichiro in a TV interview shortly after the victory ceremony in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. This phrase became to a buzzword on the Japanese web, and many MAD videos inspired by this had been uploaded to the Japanese video sharing service niconico in 2009. It's sometimes dubbed as "the coolest dirty joke in the world".
