About

High On Life is a YouTube travel channel featuring vlogs taken from exotic locations around the world. In July 2018, three vloggers on the channel died in an accident at Shannon Falls in British Columbia, Canada.

History

On June 6th, 2011, High On Life[1] uploaded the first video to the channel, featuring footage of the channel's co-creators Ryker Gamble and Parker Heuser performing a dance routine to the "Tunak Tunak Tun" Punjabi love song (shown below). Within seven years, the video gained over 4.06 million views and 4,700 comments.

On November 2nd, 2011, the channel uploaded a sequel dance follow titled "How to Dance When You're High on Life 2" (shown below, left). On August 26th, 2012, the channel released a parkour parody video titled "Epic Parkour Chase in Europe" (shown below, right).

On September 17th, 2014, the channel released a video titled "3 Years of Travel in 3 Minutes (Lessons and Adventures)," featuring footage taken from various locations around the world (shown below, left). On September 24th, a video titled "Epic Cliff Jumping and Waterfall Slide (EXTREME DANGER)" was uploaded to the channel, in which several men jump off waterfalls and cliffs (shown below, right).

On November 8th, 2017, the channel uploaded a video titled "How to Gain 100K Instagram Followers in 48 Hours," in which vlogger Alexey Lyakh attempts to accumulated 100,000 followers on a new Instagram feed (shown below).

Deaths

On July 3rd, 2018, High On Life vloggers Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Megan Scraper died in an accident at Shannon Falls in British Columbia, Canada. According to reports, witnesses saw Scraper fall down the falls, leading Gamble and Lyakh to jump down trying to save her.[3] On July 6th, the channel uploaded a video titled "To Our Friends and Family," in which members of the channel discussed the deaths, urging viewers to share the hashtag "#HOLInspired" to share memories and inspirational messages (shown below).

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe[4] page was created for a the families of the deceased to help them with "the care and expenses that come at an impossibly difficult time like this."
