About

Haterloverych was the main account for Richthabag, a TikToker known for his frequent meme reaction videos where he stands silently as a meme is showcased over his head. Richthabag began posting to TikTok in 2021 and gained a significant following for his meme curation and the general style of his videos, opening the page @haterloverych later that year and surpassing the original in followers. In December 2021 TikTokers began reposting his videos and changing the memes to darker schizoposts and hiding messages in them. Haterloverych inspired several accounts where people post the same type of content posting new memes over his old videos. The original @haterloverych account reached over a million followers before it was banned and deleted.

History

Richthabag

TikToker^[7] @richthabag began posting meme reaction videos where he shows a meme above his head and silently stares in 2021 over an original sound, gaining a significant following of over 600,000 by early 2022 (examples shown below, left and right). Richthabag frequently posted throughout 2021, often multiple times a day.

Parody Accounts

Sometime around December 2021, TikToker @haterloverych opened his account and began reposting Richthabags videos, replacing the memes to darker ones. Haterloverych posted very frequently to the account, sometimes uploading several videos each hour. The account was banned and deleted on February 2nd, 2022.

Popular parody accounts include @haterloverrich,^[1] created on December 29th, 2021, @moneyloverych,^[2] created on January 4th, 2022, and @david2broke,^[3] a verified account that was started on January 16th (first post from each shown below, left to right respectively). He also runs @haterslovesuperrich.^[4]

The parody accounts replace the shown meme or pretend to be richthabag. Additional accounts include @cant_do_bro_joke_anymore (example shown below, left) and @lyistoofly (example shown below, right).

Schizoposting and Hidden Messages

As haterloverych and other parody accounts continued posting videos the memes became darker, many taken from the schizoposting genre. Commenters began voicing concerns both ironic and genuine for the creator. Haterloverych continued posting darker memes across his accounts, also adding subtle messages to some videos that hint at him needing help (examples shown below).

On January 4th, 2022, Redditor DonaldMcTrizzel posted to /r/GameTheorists^[6] asking about haterloverych, writing about how the creator recently opened three new accounts and his memes are becoming darker and using things like morse code to hide messages in them. On January 11th, YouTuber Durag Dog posted a video exploring the account (shown below).

Richthabag's Rap Music

Richthabag has a YouTube^[5] channel of the same name where he regularly posts rap content. His highest engagement rap videos were posted on December 26th, 2021, and January 13th, 2022, gaining over 87,000 views and 41,000 views by February 22nd, 2022, respectively (shown below, left and right).

"Bro"

Haterloverych and Richthabag are often referred to simply as "Bro" in their comment sections. Haterloverych has referenced this a number of times in his TikToks (examples shown below).
