About
Gabriel Xuxu, also known as Gabriel Chuchu or Nepo Baby, is a TikTok child personality known for making videos on his family accounts @yasmimgabriel20 and @arieloliveirag on which he takes part in a series of mini-games to win prizes like money, sweets and occasionally a chuchu, which is a type of pumpkin consumed in Brazil. The Brazilian kid gained viral attention in February 2024 after followers noticed how his parents often helped him to pick the best prizes in the mini-games (hence the "Nepo Baby" nickname that references the slang term), and later in July 2024 when netizens coined the "Gabriel Xuxu" nickname after the kid constantly won the chuchu vegetable as a prize, which he hates. The creator also inspired an ironic fanbase that celebrates every time Gabriel either loses a good prize or wins a chuchu.
History
The Brazilian kid Gabriel Lima, aka Nepo Baby and Gabriel Xuxu, started to appear on TikTok videos posted by his parents under the accounts @yasmimgabriel20[1] and @arieloliveirag[2] in November 2023. Although many of Gabriel's comedy skit videos had gone viral in Brazil in late 2023, he gained more widespread popularity in January 2024 after participating in a series of mini-games with his family and friends.
For example, on January 26th, 2024, the TikTok account @yasmimgabriel20[3] posted a video in which the Brazilian kids had to guess to match the color of the plastic bottles to win small prizes. The video (seen below) amassed over 2 million plays and 36,000 likes in 10 months.
The video above is also one of the earliest known examples of content in which the Brazilian kid is called "Nepo Baby," as user @zaistrek[4] explained in Portuguese, "For those who don't know, Nepo Baby is a nickname that the public gave to Gabriel, because almost every (old) video he received tips from his father in the middle of the game and ended up winning prizes unfairly, while the others always participated following the rules."
The TikTok comment, posted on January 17th, 2024, received roughly 60 likes in 10 months (seen below).

"Gabriel Xuxu" Nickname
Gabriel Lima started to gain an ironic fanbase that cheered for his defeat or misfortune in the mini-games or every time the kid won a chuchu vegetable, coining the "Gabriel Xuxu" nickname for him later in 2024.
For example, on September 20th, 2024, Gabriel[5] won three consecutive chuchus after playing a mini-game to blow a plastic cup to win several other prizes. The video (seen below) gained over 43 million plays and 2 million likes in a month.
On September 26th, 2024, TikTok[6] user @deluxe.santos posted a video titled "Gabriel core" showing all the instances the Brazilian kid won a chuchu (seen below), amassing more than 569,000 likes in a month.
