Dolan Dark is a YouTuber from New Zealand who first gained popularity for his montage parodies. but has since gained a reputation for his shitposts on Twitter and Youtube.
Online History
Dolan first created his YouTube account on February 24th, 2011.[1] Later that year, on December 3rd, 2011, he launched his Twitter[2] account.
On June 22nd, 2013, Dolan Dark uploaded his first video, βMeet me in the Swamp β Skrillshrex (DJ SHREKEX TRAP REMIX)" (shown below, left), a trap remix of All Star, to YouTube,[3] As of November 2017, the video has more than 100,000 views. The following year, on October 11th, 2014, he uploaded his first fmontage parody "TURN DOWN FOR WOT?" The video (shown below, right) has garnered more than 200,000 views in three years.
On September 20th, 2014, Dolan laucnhed a secondary YouTube channel, Dolan Darker.[5] The following day, he uploaded his first Dolan Darker video, "Peppa Pig listens to a Certified Hood Classic.β The post (shown below) received more than 89,000 views in three years.
Two years later, Redditor [8] launched the /r/DolanDark subreddit. As of November 2017, the subreddit has more than 800 subscribers.
On March 22nd, 2017 he launched the Dolan Darkest[9] YouTube channel. Within eight months, it had received more than 6,200 subscribers.
Three years later, on May 2nd, 2017, Dolan uploaded his most popular video, βMeme I,β a compilation of some of his memes.[6] The video (shown below) received more than 1.9 million views in six months. Several months later, he uploaded his second most popular video, βMemes III,β which garnered more than 1.7 million views in two months.
