Demi Adejuyigbe is an American comedian, writer, and social media personality. He first gained prominence as a host on of the Gilmore Girls-themed podcast Gilmore Guys and has worked as a writer on shows including The Good Place and The Late Late Show with James Corden. He has gained over 200,000 followers on Twitter and has attracted attention with his annual "September 21st" videos, in which he posts elaborate dances set to 'September' by Earth, Wind & Fire.

History

Demi Adejuyigbe was born October 28th, 2002 in England.[1] He moved to Texas at the age of five. He began gaining internet fame in the early 2010s through Vine and Weird Twitter, which helped land him gigs as the host of the Gilmore Girls-themed podcast Gilmore Guys, a host of the podcast Punch Up The Jam, and as a writer for The Good Place and The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Online Presence

Adejuyigbe is best known online for his handle @electrolemon, which he used on Vine (compilation shown below, left) and currently uses on Twitter.[2] Though he joined Twitter in 2008, one of his first viral tweets was posted on November 28th, 2013,[4] showing him with 57 copies of the film Click which he'd put on a shelf in his parents' home (shown below, right). The tweet has gained over 56,000 retweets and 98,000 likes in nearly seven years.

In 2018, he was named by Vulture as one of 38 Comedians You Should And Will Know.[3] In addition to having gained over 200,000 Twitter subscribers, Adejuyigbe also has over 67,000 followers on Instagram[5] and 65,000 YouTube subscribers.[6]

"September" Videos

On September 21st, 2016, Adejuyigbe posted the first of what would become an annual skit in which he performs an elaborate dance set to a remix of "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire.


Over the following years, the dance would become more elaborate, with new, surprising elements entering over the course of one take (shown below).


The videos attracted media attention, and have been covered by The Verge,[7] Mashable,[8] Slate[9] and others.
