Detective Pikachu

Detective Pikachu is an upcoming 2016 Pokémon spin-off mystery-solving adventure game developed by The Pokémon Company and published by Nintendo for the 3DS portable game console. Following the release of the official teaser trailer in late January 2016, the project garnered much online attention from the fans, mainly due to the portrayal of its main character Pikachu as an articulate, hard-boiled detective in a clear departure from its traditional image as a cute, cuddly Pokemon creature. Online, numerous fans have collectively decided to sign a petition for Danny Devito to voice the upcoming Detective Pikachu, with at least 20,000 signatures.[5]

College Bathroom Shrine

On October 10th, 2018, Twitter user @terreeslavie tweeted a photograph of a small shrine dedicated to Devito hidden behind a paper towel dispenser in a bathroom at Purchase College in Harrison, New York.

On November 11th, Twitter user @pisslorde posted a video of the shrine's location (shown below).


On November 13th, Twitter user @slackerdook[6] tweeted photographs of the shrine location (shown below). Within 24 hours, the tweet gained over 381,000 likes and 116,000 retweets.

In a follow-up tweet, @slackerdook[7] claimed the shrine had been in the same spot for "a couple years." In response to the post, Twitter user @Sapharodon[8] noted that the shrine looked like an entry in SCP Foundation database.

Personal Life

On January 17, 1971, DeVito met Rhea Perlman when she went to see a friend in the single performance of the play The Shrinking Bride, which also featured DeVito. They moved in together two weeks after meeting. The couple married on January 28, 1982. They have three children: Lucy Chet DeVito (born March 11, 1983), Grace Fan DeVito (born March 1985), and Jacob Daniel DeVito (born October 1987). Throughout their relationship, Perlman and DeVito have acted alongside each other several times, including in the TV show Taxi and the feature film Matilda (in which they played Matilda's parents). DeVito and Perlman separated in October 2012 after 30 years of marriage and over 40 years together. However, in March 2013, it was reported that they had reconciled and called off the separation. The family resides in Beverly Hills, California, and also spend time at their vacation home in Interlaken, New Jersey.[2]
