Ashton Hall is a Black male fitness influencer, bodybuilder and health coach who shares business "grindset" content on Instagram under his handle @ashtonhallofficial. He went particularly viral in late March 2025 when a video of his morning routine was reposted to Twitter / X, spawning a slew of memes at his expense. Many internet users viewed the routine as overly manicured and unrealistic, finding humor in his eccentric habits, like only drinking Saratoga Spring Water, rubbing a banana peel on himself and dunking his face in a bowl of ice water multiple times. Memes about his 7:36 Pool Dive also surfaced in the fallout. Hall began posting content in 2020, spreading to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Background

Ashton Hall is 29 years old and originally from Orlando, Florida. He moved to Los Angeles, California to start his influencer career. He had NFL aspirations in high school and college. He attended Alcorn State University in Mississippi where he played football in 2014 and 2015. "Being in the NFL was all I could think about," he said in a 2022 interview with the Ritz Herald.[1][2]

Hall became a trainer in Orlando but after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he pivoted to online training and social media. He moved to LA in 2022.[1]

Ashton Hall shared his first Instagram[3] post on April 16th, 2020, gaining over 6,100 likes in five years. He shared his first YouTube[4] video on May 3rd, 2020, gaining over 27,300 views in five years (shown below).

About a year later, on March 2nd, 2021, Hall shared his first TikTok[5] video, receiving over 1,500 likes in four years. Hall was sharing short-form workout videos by that time. He demonstrated a workout and highlighted which part of the body it exercised. He was sharing the videos as Instagram Reels [6] during the same timeframe.

Online Presence

Ashton Hall's content was reshared across video platforms in the early 2020s. For instance, in January 2024, X[7][8] user @ManlyMindz reposted two of Hall's videos, receiving over 1,800 likes and 1,300 likes, respectively, in a year.

Hall went largely viral in March 2025, when a video of his morning routine went viral on X. The repost that sparked the attention was shared by X[9] user @tipsformenx on March 20th, receiving over 677.6 million views and 193,000 likes in four days (shown below).

The tweet amassed viral quote tweets and spawned memes at Hall's expense. Internet users found humor in his odd habits, like rubbing banana peels on himself and dunking his head in ice water. Many believed that Hall was cringe or corny because he documented and recorded the routine which seemingly aimed to show his physical, mental and wealth superiority.

For instance, on March 21st, 2025, X[10] user @notwhydeegee2 tweeted, "This guy is frying me, bro. All he does his dunk his face in ice water and do full sprints in a parking lot. He's either our funniest satire comedian or clinically insane," receiving over 274,000 likes in three days (shown below).

Memes about his morning routine video spread to memes generally about him. For instance, on March 22nd, X[11] user @101Tino0 tweeted a video of Hall celebrating 7 million followers on Instagram, captioning it, "Nigga is gaining a million followers every month now 😭." The tweet received over 17.2 million views and 36,100 likes in two days (shown below).

On March 22nd, 2025, X[12] user @blephin_ tweeted a screencap from a different Ashton Hall video in which he's sitting, on his phone with an IV drip, captioned, "What is he doing man LMFAO." The post gained over 422,000 likes in two days (shown below).

7:36 Pool Dive

7:36 Pool Dive refers to a series of memes parodying a part of Ashton Hall's Morning Routine video in which the influencer takes a dive into a pool, with the start of the dive timestamped 7:36 and the moment of him entering the water timestamped 7:40. The editing error became a subject of jokes, while the image of Hall diving has been became an exploitable.
