AriGameplays, whose real name is Abril Abdamari Garza Alonso, is a Mexican Twitch streamer, model and cosplayer who has gathered a large following on Twitch since she started streaming in 2016. Despite facing brief Twitch bans in 2019 and 2021, AriGameplays returned to the platform to become the second-most-watched female Twitch streamer in mid-2023, beating Amouranth and trailing Pokimane.

History

AriGameplays was born in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León. She pursued a college degree in communication sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico but eventually dropped out to pursue a career in social media and streaming. In 2019, AriGameplays married Colombian YouTuber JuanSGuarnizo.^[1]

As of August 2023, AriGameplays has over 4.19 million YouTube subscribers,^[2] 13.2 million Twitter followers,^[3] 6.5 million Twitch followers,^[4] 13.2 million Instagram followers,^[5] and 26.1 million TikTok followers.^[6]

AriGameplays began posting videos to her YouTube channel in 2014, making Let's Play and Unboxing content (shown below).^[7][8]

AriGameplays began her Twitch career in 2016, playing games like Minecraft, Overwatch, and Fortnite. On October 18th, 2019, AriGameplays's Twitch account faced a 30-day suspension for sexually suggestive content.^[9][10] AriGameplays then streamed on Facebook Gaming and Nololive until her return to Twitch on September 10th, 2021 (seen below).^[11]

On August 1st, 2023, AriGameplays reportedly crossed streamer Amouranth to become the second-most streamed female Twitch influencer, with over 6.5 million Twitch followers to Amouranth's 6.4 million.^[12]
