Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Performance
On December 2nd, 2014, Ariana was hit in the back by a runway model wearing a pair of costume angel wings during her performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (shown below).
Following the performance, Grande tweeted[2] about the incident and added the hashtag "#bangbangintomyface," gathering upwards of 83,400 retweets and 44,000 favorites in the first 24 hours (shown below).
That day, fans began photoshopping a cutout of Grande dodging the costume piece into other base images of various humorous contexts (shown below). In the coming days, several news sites reported on the photoshop meme, including US Weekly,[3] E! Entertainment,[4] The Daily Mail,[5] Bustle[6] and Mashable.[7]
Breakup With Pete Davidson
On October 14th, 2018, TMZ reported that Ariana Grande had broken up with now-ex fiancée Pete Davidson.[8] A later report suggested that the passing of Grande's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller may have been the cause of the breakup.[9]
On Twitter, users reacted to the news in various ways. One common thread of responses expressed a lack of surprise that the relationship, which moved very quickly, would end as suddenly. User @fanaticgrande posted a GIF expressing how they knew the relationship would not make it to 2019, gaining over 350 retweets and 1,700 likes (shown below, left). "Aubrey" Misheard Lyric

When detailing a new relationship, she sings, "But this one gon' last / 'Cause her name is Ari," implying that she is focusing on herself.
However, many misheard the lyric as stating "Her name is Aubrey," which would imply Grande had entered a same-sex relationship. When Apple Music uploaded the track to its streaming service, they provided the misheard lyric.[10] This prompted Grande to correct the service on Twitter (shown below).
Twitter users joked about the misheard lyric as though Grande had entered a homosexual relationship. User @swiftlypastel[15] commented it was tasteless considering the 2017 Manchester Bombing occurred at an Ariana Grande concert.
