About

Pearl Davis Getting Rejected refers to a viral debate on TikTok about YouTube personality Pearl Davis getting rejected by TikToker Owen Nurm, who states she's too "masculine" and that she's an "advocate for what men want but not what men want." The viral video sparked a debate on the platform about Pearl's perceived pick me girl behavior and also several confused users who thought the discussion was about Mia Goth's 2022 film Pearl or the SpongeBob SquarePants character Pearl.

Origin

On April 16th, 2024, TikTok influencer Owen Nurm[1] replied to a comment in his video saying "Pearl is available," referencing the conservative commentator and influencer Pearl Davis.

In the video (shown below) he added the title "Most Men can't marry a masc woman like Pearl," delving into why the influencer is "available," claiming "she's masculine as hell" and that she an "advocate for what men want but not what men want." The post amassed over 1.3 million plays and 60,000 likes in a week.

Spread

Nurm's video about Pearl Davis sparked a series of videos mostly focusing on Pearl's pick me girl behavior and how men see that. For example, on April 21st, 2024, TikTok[2] user @wunmiverse posted a video commenting on how Owen humiliated the influencer, even though "she agrees with everything he says" because he "hates her." The video (shown below, left) amassed more than 2.9 million plays and 314,000 likes in two days.

On April 22nd, TikTok[3] user @drippyjam69 joked about Pearl's viral debate, posting the overlay text "not Pearl being the biggest pick me on the internet just for conservative men to call her ugly and argumentative." The post (shown below, right) garnered roughly 1.7 million plays and 272,000 likes in a day.
