Paula Abdul's Hat Toss refers to a portion of pop singer Paula Abdul's performance at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards in which she accidentally tossed her top hat at actress and dancer Julianne Hough's neck.

On May 1st, 2019, Twitter user @VanessaLGarcia uploaded a clip of Abdul throwing her hat at Hough's neck with the caption, "I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep after that @PaulaAbdul performance! It was too good! HATS OFF 😜 to her!" (shown below). The post gained over 600 retweets and 3,600 likes in a day.

On May 1st, 2019, many Twitter users tweeted about how they found the event funny. BreatheHeavy.com posted an edit of the clip with the caption "Finish Her!" to Twitter (shown below). The video gained over 1,800 retweets and 6,100 likes in a day.

That day, Julianne Hough^[1] tweet a picture of herself smiling with a makeshift neck brace on with the caption, "The result of the honor of being hit in the neck by @PaulaAbdul’s flying hat!
