Dune 2 "Silence!" or Paul Atreides "Silence!" is a meme trend in which someone yells "silence" as loud as possible in a public space while someone else records them, mimicking a scene in the 2024 film Dune: Part 2 said by actor Timothée Chalamet. The trend was popularized on TikTok in March 2024, with TikToker @luvsickdracko notably starting it.
Origin
On March 21st, 2024, TikToker[1][2] @luvsickdracko posted two videos in which he stands on a lunch table at school and yells "silence!" as loud as possible, referencing a scene from Dune Part 2, garnering over 9.6 million and 7 million views, respectively, in four days (shown below, left and right). The videos feature captions referencing the film, including, "Bro might be Paul Atreides."
Spread
The trend spread across TikTok that month, with the originator, @luvsickdracko, also continuing to post videos following the trend. On March 22nd, 2024, TikToker[3] @_.tyl posted a video doing the trend, garnering over 546,000 views in three days (shown below).
On March 23rd, TikToker[4] @gbillz posted a video in which he goes to someone's door and does the trend, garnering over 485,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker[5] @ithinkitssami posted a video following the trend, garnering over 3.4 million views in two days (shown below, right).
