Origin

On February 6th, 2020, Twitter user @NewYorkNeed posted the video with the caption "Y'all ever saw a owl run." The post recieved more than 9 million views, 722,000 likes and 180,000 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below).

Spread

Following the post, people began requesting different audio for the clip. One tweet by @CatherineBiss received more than 231,000 views, 18,000 likes and 3,800 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below).

Others began using the video as the punchline to various jokes. Twitter user @ewfeez tweeted, "When I overhear someone saying they know how to reverse this weird spell that turned me into an owl." The post received more than 3,800 likes and 600 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below).
