About

Orangutan Grabs Man, also known as Orangutan Attacks Man, is a viral video of a man named Hasan Arifin being attacked by an orangutan at an Indonesian zoo called the Kasang Kulim Zoo. In the clip, the guy gets his shirt grabbed by the orangutan after reaching his hands out toward the ape and is then pulled against the cage, twisted sideways and then a small fart can be heard amid the chaos. The video surfaced on Twitter in June 2022 and spread online in the following days.

Origin

On June 6th, 2022, a visitor to the Kasang Kulim Zoo in Indonesia named Hasan Arifin climbed over the fences at the orangutan exhibit to get a closer look at the cages.[1] He reportedly did so while the guards were on a lunch break, ignoring signs written in front of the cages. The first known posting of the video was made on June 6th, 2022, by Twitter[2] user oreoflavoorr, whose video received roughly 817,300 views and 10,800 likes in one day (shown below).
