Orange Biden or Joe Biden Orange Spray Tan refers to a viral video and picture of United States President Joe Biden in which his skin appears to have an orangeish hue, purportedly from a spray tan or bronzer. The image went viral on the internet in early July 2024 after Biden delivered a five-minute speech in response to the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. Speculations about Biden's orange-toned appearance sparked memes and jokes on Facebook, Twitter / X and Reddit as it was used as an exploitable meme and photoshopped.

On July 1st, 2024, United States President Joe Biden delivered a primetime address in response to the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. ABC News^[1] posted his speech to its YouTube channel that day (seen below), which amassed over 197,000 views and 3,300 likes in less than 24 hours.

While Biden was giving his address, some netizens started to mock his skin, which appeared orange from a purported spray tan. One of the earliest viral mentions of his orange skin color was posted on X^[2] by user @dom_lucre on July 1st in which he used a still image of Biden captioning it, "Trump whooped Biden ass so bad in that debate that he is turning into the bad orange man." The post (seen below, left) amassed roughly 3,700 likes and 540 reposts in a day.

The "Orange Biden" picture sparked photoshopped edits in which people compared President Biden's orange tan with Donald Trump's similar skin tone. For example, on July 2nd, 2024, X^[3] user @TheBabylonBee meme account mocked Biden's tan with a photoshopped image of him dressed as Trump with a new campaign slogan "Make United States Superb A Second Time." The post (seen below) received over 4,900 likes and 932 reposts in a few hours.

Shortly after Biden's picture went viral on the internet, former United States President Donald Trump^[4] shared the "Orange Biden" meme on his social media platform Truth Social, which amassed more than 9,000 likes and 2,300 reposts in a day (seen below).
