“Ooh— Ahh. How pretty.” Give Me A Break refers to a post from Twitter / X user Dan Hentschel in May 2024 in which he's photoshopped or edited to look like an old grumpy man. The tweet inspired a series of redraws, mostly depicting famous characters known for being grumpy or villainous. The meme has similar exploitable usage as to other memes inspired by Hentschel's posts like My Students Are All Morons and Cocky Want Boing Boing.

On May 8th, 2024, X^[1] user @danghentschel posted a photoshopped photo of himself in front of a yellow flower wall in which he made himself a grumpy old bald man. The photo was captioned, "Ooh-- Ahh. How pretty.” Give Me A Break," which amassed over 1 million views and 53,000 likes in a week (shown below).

Dan Hentschel's tweet sparked a series of quotes from people using the selfie for redraw memes. For instance, on May 15th, 2024, X^[2] user @sybbatra posted a version of the tweet as if it was posted by the Jujutsu Kaisen villain Sukuna. The post (seen below, left) received roughly 560 likes and 80 reposts in a few hours.

On May 8th, X^[3] user @0133u posted a version of the meme as if the Harry Potter character Severus Snape is the tweet's owner. The post (seen below, right) garnered more than 140 likes and eight reposts in a week.
