Ok, So Basically Im Very Smol is an image macro series based on an image of a news crew putting a microphone to a puppy's mouth as if about to interview the dog. Following the original Tumblr post in 2015, users added the text "ok, so basically I'm very smol" to the image. It has since been used in a series of image edits.

Origin

On August 10th, 2015, the Tumblr^[1] account goodassdog posted the image of the puppy being mock interviewed. The post received more than 649,000 notes in less than five years (shown below).

Spread

Less than one month later, on September 3rd, Tumblr^[2] user unfollovving reblogged the image with the comment "too smol" (shown below, left).

Over the next few years, the image continued to spread. On September 8th, 2017, Redditor ^[3] HahaUrGay shared the image on the /r/pics subreddit, where it received more than 780 points (90% upvoted) in less than three years.

The following year, on October 21st, 2018, Facebook ^[4] user infinitememes1 shared a version of the image with the text "ok, so basically im very smol" placed over the dog. The post received more than 10,000 shares, 5,600 reactions and 3,500 comments in less than two years (shown below, center). Days later, Redditor^[5] roryellis shared the image on the /r/funny subreddit. The post received more than 15,000 points (89% upvoted) and 130 comments in less than two years.

On August 25th, 2019, Redditor^[6] Dragoniod20 posted an edited version of the image to the /r/Animemes subreddit. The post received more than 23,000 points (98% upvoted) and 190 comments in less than one year (shown below, right).
