Oi Casada (English: "Hi, married?") refers to a phrase in Portuguese used in memes about men flirting with married women. The expression was popularized in April 2020 with a series of shitposting and image macro memes using the term "Oi Casada" alongside Chad versions of characters like Diego from Ice Age and Simon from the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon.

Origin

On April 3rd, 2020, Reddit[1] user user u/Dino_Doidao posted on /r/orochinho, uploading an image of a shirtless Simon from the Alvin and the Chipmunks live-action movie with the overlay text in Portuguese "Oi Casada." The post (seen below) garnered 158 upvotes and 4 comments in three years.

Spread

The meme was kept in the subreddit community for a few weeks in April 2020, until a new version was uploaded on iFunny[2] by @oikasada on April 24th, featuring a Photoshopped version of Diego from Ice Age with a muscular body and the overlay text "Oi Casada." The post (seen below) garnered eight likes and six comments in three years.

Other variations of the meme were created throughout the years, all revolving around men flirting with married women. For instance, on April 22nd, 2020, Twitter[3] user @vhcordeiro98 shared a fan art image of a muscular Ben 10 with the overlay text in Portuguese "Hi, I heard you're married." The post (seen below, left) received 42 likes in three years. On August 3rd, 2020, Twitter[4] user @nicxxxxb uploaded a female version of the meme featuring Tigress from Kung Fu Panda. The meme (seen below, right) received 81 likes and 7 retweets in three years.
