About

Nurning Annintant refers to the confusion surrounding a viral video on TikTok in which a woman posted a clip of herself with the caption, "Imagine how good your life would be if you had a 26-year-old nursing assistant by your side, now replace S with N." The caption suggests it contains some sort of linguistic puzzle, but commenters were unable to figure it out, with most coming up with "nurning annintant." The captioned video and images of the post rapidly went viral in December 2022, sparking a viral debate over the meaning on multiple social media platforms.

Origin

On December 6th, 2022, TikToker @thisis_bex[1] posted a TikTok showing herself with the caption, "Imagine how good your life would be if you had a 26-year-old nursing assistant by your side, now replace S with N." The TikTok gained over 5.4 million views in one week with numerous commenters asking for the answer or attempting to solve it (shown below).

Spread

In the following days, the caption baffled social media users on Twitter, TikTok and Reddit.[5] In TikTok comments, many were puzzled, leaving replies about how the only answer could be the nonsensical "twenty-nix-year-old nurning annintant by your nide" (shown below).

The TikTok soon made its way to Twitter as well. For example, on December 11th, 2022, Twitter user @punishedgarage[2] posted a screenshot of the TikTok, racking up 3,000 retweets, 1,200 quote-tweets and 47,000 likes from confused users in two days (shown below, left). The confusion on Twitter also led to some memes. For example, on December 12th, user @rasta_dad[3] posted a Matrix meme about the TikTok, gaining over 1,000 retweets and 19,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).

On December 13th, Know Your Meme staffer Brandon Wink posted a possible solution to the caption,[4] writing:

She's single, so she's Ms.
Registered Nurses are called RN.
If she was by your side, she'd be Mrs.
If you replace the S, MRS → MRN, Medical Registered Nurse (she doesn't fully understand the title/letter system).
