On July 17th, 2018, a thread was submitted to 4chan's /pol/ board about a hoax campaign to spread photoshopped images encouraging "liberal men" to abstain from voting in the upcoming midterm elections (shown below).^[1]

That day, photoshopped images for the hoax campaign were posted on Twitter along with the hashtags^[4]^[5] (shown below).

On July 18th, additional threads for the campaign were created on /pol/.^[2] Meanwhile, a #NoMenMidterms photoshopped image was submitted to /r/The_Donald^[3] by Redditor jesuss_son (shown below). Within 48 hours, the post gained over 1,400 points (96% upvoted) and 35 comments.
