No Community Note, It's Real refers to a humorous remark on X / Twitter which points out that as long as a video or image did not receive a community note, it must be true. The remark achieved popularity on X in early 2024, with users commenting it on videos and images which are obviously fake.

Origin

On X / Twitter, Community Notes are a feature that allows users to submit blurbs with additional context and correct information in case the information provided in the post is factually incorrect or misleading.

On October 13th, 2023, X[1] user @TheRealNeoThe quoted a July 2023 post[2] by user @Thinkwert posted photoshopped image of a pig-fish hybrid caught in Arkansas, commenting, "No community note… must be real…" The post (shown below) received over 2,500 reposts and 23,000 likes in five months. Notably, the image is a Schwainokaras / Pigposting meme.

Captioning obviously fake images and videos with comments arguing that they must be true because otherwise they would have received community notes achieved widespread popularity in early 2024. On December 25th, 2023, X[3] user @PunishedPaella used the remark to comment on a video of Santa's sleigh travelling through the sky, with the post (shown below) garnering over 9,500 reposts and 127,000 likes in three months.

On January 17th, 2024, X[4] user @GlaceonEnjoyer_ made a post that received over 20,000 reposts and 222,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On January 21st, X[5] user @Crazy4Material commented on a photograph posted by the Da Vinki twins, with the post (shown below, right) receiving over 12,000 reposts and 228,000 likes in two months.
